Intro to Percussion

Welcome to the wonderful world of percussion! In this class students will have the opportunity to try a wide range of percussion instruments and learn basic techniques on each.

Percussion Ensemble

Join Upper Valley Music Center's newest youth ensemble for percussion players!

Beginning Keyboard Skills

This class will give beginners the chance to learn basic keyboard skills, music theory, and technique in a small group.

Group Piano

Join other adults who are studying piano to take your playing to the next level and build a community for piano.

Traditional Ensembles: Bal Folk

Jazz Improvisation 2: Melody and Phrasing

This course focuses on the concept of phrasing: how to “carve out a line” and create a cohesive, melodic statement.

Introduction to Jazz Improvisation

If you have ever wondered what it might be like to improvise on your instrument but are intimidated by the prospect of expressing yourself in a spontaneous setting, this course is for you!

Vivace

Students will tackle complex music with varied rhythms, keys, and time signatures, while learning to blend and balance with their section and the greater ensemble.

Sinfonia

Students will learn how to play in a section, holding their own on a part that is rhythmically & melodically different than other parts of the ensemble.

Cello Choir

For adult cellists, this weekly class will include work on technique as well as cello choir ensemble pieces.
