Tuition Assistance

Music Education is for Everyone

We believe that everyone, no matter their financial resources, should have access to high quality music education. We offer a variety of opportunities to help everyone sing and play at Upper Valley Music Center.

Tuition Assistance

Tuition assistance is awarded to a student on the basis of need and availability of funds. Students may be awarded tuition assistance for up to one set of individual lessons, one group class, and one ensemble per person per semester. Students of all ages may apply.

Important Details

All information is held in strict confidence. Tuition Assistance and Work Study applications must be completed at the time of registration before the first lesson or class in order to be considered.

The application includes questions about the UVMC program you’re planning to enroll in, the amount of assistance you are requesting, a statement of need, your Adjusted Gross Income and the size of your household. Those applying for assistance for individual lessons are asked to submit a copy of the first two pages of your most recent tax return.

Applications are reviewed on a monthly basis: applications received by the 15th of the month will be reviewed and you will be notified of an award, if any, no later than the 25th of the month. A new application must be submitted for each term.  The remaining balance must be paid in full or by electing a payment plan before classes begin. In order to apply for any of these opportunities, please submit a completed application and attach appropriate tax documents. Applications are available in the UVMC Office or maybe printed using the link below.

Adult Work Study

For adults looking to contribute to UVMC’s operations and programming, apply to the Work Study program. Qualified participants receive tuition credit. Work Study opportunities range from supporting events to music library organization to building maintenance. Have a skill or talent you think would be an asset to UVMC?  Let us know on the application form. Hours and tasks will be mutually agreed upon during the application process. Financial need is considered for this opportunity. Availability of work study funds is limited.
