Traditional Ensemble: The Art of Small Ensemble Playing, Part 2
Fall 2023: September 6 - November 15
Spring 2024: March 6-May 15
The art of small ensemble playing is a class for all instruments and levels. This class will follow a similar format to the fall class: groups of 3 to 4 players will work independently from each other, learning tunes and coming up with performance ideas, playing for the entire group at the end of each class. We’ll use traditional tunes and songs of different genres including Celtic, North American and Northern European. The class will focus on the performance aspect in addition to the arranging side of things, spending time working on the interplay between arranging and performing. Guest instructors will join us periodically to enhance the class.
