Joining the Orchestra
New members are encouraged to connect directly with conductor Mark Nelson before enrolling: email markdnelson1@gmail.com. For new members who have already discussed participation with Mark, UVSO offers a two-session trial membership at no cost, or you may register for full year.
There are no auditions—participation is by agreement with the conductor. Players are encouraged to come to two rehearsals before registering early in any session to help decide if they want to join. The orchestra’s rehearsal schedule may not necessarily align with UVMC’s semesters.

Registration Fee
Beginning in the fall of 2026, UVMC is launching a Pay-What-You-Can membership so that the Orchestra can be a place that truly welcomes everyone. We continue to welcome students, and encourage students to select a membership level that is affordable for them. All membership fees above $150 are considered a tax-deductible donation. If you are able, please consider a $200 or higher membership to help everyone make music together!
Rehearsal Locations and Times
The UVSO rehearses in the Lebanon High School Band Room in Lebanon, NH on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 pm. Members are expected to arrive in time to play at 7.
