Jennifer Elton Turbes grew up in Duluth, MN and graduated from the Lake Superior Suzuki Talent Education Program, studying with Laurie Bastian for 12 years. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College, followed by graduate studies at the Eastman School of Music, from which she holds the degrees Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music. Jennifer is passionate about pedagogy and performance, serving as a full time member of the Suzuki & Viola faculty at the Upper Valley Music Center since 2012 (Lebanon, NH) and appearing frequently on concert programs in Vermont and New Hampshire. She has registered teacher training with the Suzuki Association of the Americas on both violin and viola (with Nancy Lokken, Edward Kreitman, Carrie Ruening-Hummel, Elizabeth Stuen-Walker, Carol Dallinger & Alice Joy Lewis). In her spare time, Jennifer plays the Norwegian Hardanger Fiddle, and loves to spend time with her dog, Alaska, and cat, Beep.
