Handbell Choir

UVMC welcomes guest instructors from the Upper Valley Ringers to share the joy of handbell music both for beginners and experienced ringers. Described as the “ultimate team sport for musicians,” handbell choirs are both accessible for beginners and musically rich and engaging for experienced musicians.

Classes will cover basic bell ringing techniques, how to play in an ensemble, and how to read and follow your part in music arranged for bells. Each class will learn repertoire as an ensemble to be shared with friends and family in an informal performance.

Section one is for those who are new to handbells and reading music.

Section two is for those who already have some handbell experience, or who are confident music-readers and ready to try a new instrument! Both sections are open to ages 10 and up. For questions about placement, please contact the office.

Ages: 10 and up
Guest Instructors: Jo Shute, Judy Csatari, and Jane Sachs
