Monday 6-6:45 pm
Directed by Alicia Casey, this new ensemble is open to violin and viola students with a high level of commitment, who have polished Vivaldi A minor 1st movement (violin) Telemann Concerto in G major (viola) and are comfortable playing 3 8ve scales and sight reading into 3rd position.
Tour Group will function as a conductorless chamber ensemble based on the model of the acclaimed Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. With this model, members of the ensemble are equally responsible for leading and following; they must communicate with each other to shape the music. The skills they develop in this way form the basis of excellence in ensemble playing at the highest levels. In addition to communication skills, other key ensemble skills include blending sound, matching articulations, and voicing. Conditions permitting, this ensemble will travel within New England in Spring 2022 to perform in connection with other Suzuki programs. Tour Group requires a full year commitment from participants.
