Note Reading & Ensemble Skills

Mondays 5:45-6:30 pm
September 21-January 11
Online via Zoom
violins and flutes in an ensemble

While we can’t gather in large groups, our regular ensemble programs are on hold, but you can still develop your note reading and ensemble skills to be ready to go when ensembles restart.

In this weekly class, students will build their note reading and sight reading skills, gaining fluency in the written language of music. Playing in an ensemble also requires responsiveness and directed listening. Students will practice responding musically to a leader and sharpen their listening skills to be able to hear all the parts of an ensemble. By the end of the term students will be ready to jump back into a group rehearsal.
