Part 1 Fall 2021: October 19-January 11
Part 2 Spring: February 1-May 3
Always wanted to play the fiddle? In this zero to toe-tapping class we’ll start with the very basics: how to hold the fiddle and bow with clean, relaxed technique that fits your body, how to “hear” and remember a tune. We’ll progress using classic melodies from the Irish, Old Time, New England and French Canadian
traditions, and explore how to find and join a jam session or just play for your own joy at home. Written music will be available; recording device highly recommended.
Fall will be Part 1 and Spring will be Part 2 of this beginner course. Total beginners, or advanced beginners who are wondering which class is right for them, should complete our New Student Inquiry Form for placement.
Length: 12 weeks, 1 hour classes
