In Technique Tune Up workshops, UVMC faculty review the fundamentals of technique for playing or singing, so that you can build confidence and refresh your memory. These workshops are especially for musicians who studied or played at an earlier part of their lives, but need a refresher to prepare for joining an ensemble or making practice a regular habit again. Technique Tune Up workshops are free and open to the community, with pre-registration required. 

This Singing workshop will be led by Jennifer Pomeroy, a member of UVMC’s voice faculty. The workshop will include discussion and practical application of breathing techniques, exploration of resonance and how to make sounds with different qualities, shaping sound using embouchure, and diction. Participants will warm up as a group, integrating the techniques that have been discussed, and then sing together as a group, exploring simple and accessible repertoire and practice applying the basics to a song.
