Annemieke McLane

Collaborative Piano

Pianist Annemieke McLane was born in the Netherlands. She has studied classical piano and received degrees in Music Pedagogy and a Masters in Performance from the Conservatory in Zwolle, where she studied with Prof. Rudy de Heus and was awarded the conservatory’s ‘Student of the Year’ for “great intelligence in pedagogy and sensitivity as a performer in well-balanced programs”. Ms. ​McLane has performed in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States. ​Annemieke won the National Young Music Talent (Netherlands) for piano-accompaniment, praised for her touch and coloring. In Paris she was finalist at the international Nadia and Lili Boulanger competition. In 2004, Annemieke made her way to Vermont. She has been staff accompanist at the Boston conservatory ​ 2004-2006, and has been teaching and performing as collaborative artist since 2004 at Saint Michael’s College​. She is pianist for the Handel Society of Dartmouth College and for the Dartmouth Theater Department. At Middlebury College she accompanies vocal students. She is the music director of the United Church in Strafford since September 2016 and is part of the UVMC faculty. ​​She collaborates with vocalists and instrumentalists in concerts. She forms a duo with accordionist Jeremiah McLane in “Folklassics”. ​Their Album “Danse” came out in 2012. ​Annemieke’s first solo ​album “​T​occare” was released in the Fall of 2009. ​”Mesmerizing Schubert” (Seven Days) and her new solo album “Birds and Beethoven” arrived in August 2016 (‘All of it is a joy”, J. Lowe)​.
