Chloe Louise Brisson is a New Hampshire born vocalist and composer who specializes in Jazz, Folk, Blues, and Americana styles. While being mentored by Sheila Jordan and Fred Haas in her early years, Chloe performed at the 2013 Grammy Awards and toured during the Jazz Over The Volga Festival in Yaroslavl, Russia. She went on to study with Dominique Eade, Jason Moran and Dave Holland while attending the New England Conservatory of Music. In 2016 Brisson was awarded an SMA Downbeat Award for Best Undergraduate Vocalist and performed at the internationally acclaimed Panama Jazz Festival. In that same year she was accepted to Betty Carter Jazz Ahead, a performance and composition workshop at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. After graduating from NEC with high honors, Brisson began her graduate studies at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, a prestigious degree program for advanced jazz musicians. While at the BGJI, Chloe had the opportunity to study with more master jazz musicians, such as John Patitucci, Joe Lovano, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Danilo Perez. During this time she also performed both nationally and internationally, taught workshops around the world, and was the first vocalist for Ralph Peterson’s GenNext Big Band. After completing her graduate degree, she moved on to a year-long Post-Graduate Fellowship with the institute. Most recently Brisson participated in a month-long artist residency in the High Arctic of Svalbard with 27 other artists, and was the vocalist for the GenNext Big Band ‘Listen Up’ album which won the ‘Rising Star Big Band’ category of the 2020 Downbeat Critics Poll. She is looking forward to teaching at the Upper Valley Music Center!
