Messiah Sing Conductor; Music Theory

Jane Woods is a retired K-12 public/private school music educator, having most recently taught and conducted for 21 years at Hanover High School, Hanover, NH. At Hanover High she directed the Chorus and Footnotes Chamber Ensemble (including 5 tours to France) and coached students participating in NH Concert/Jazz All-State festivals. Additionally, she advised three student-directed a cappella ensembles, provided musical direction for the annual Broadway show productions and taught Music Theory. She is currently involved in a variety of Upper Valley community choral and musical theater organizations: Bel Canto Chamber Singers (Music Director/Conductor), NCCT Teens musicals (Music Director/Conductor), Northern Stage YES musicals (Music Director/piano), and Upper Valley Music Center (Messiah Sing/Conductor and teaching Music Theory). In addition to her formal degree training she studied and participated widely in workshops and seminars including: Sommerkademie JSBach — Eugene, Oregon and Stuttgart, Germany (choral-orchestral conducting) Europa Cantat XIX — Never, France (Conductors’ Study Tour) Westminster Choir College, Western Wind, College of Santa Fe, Isaye Barnwell (African American choral tradition).
