UVMC/Opera North Carmen Treble Ensemble

Upper Valley Music Center partners with Opera North this summer on an exciting project that will give young singers the opportunity to participate in a fully-staged, fully costumed, professional production with orchestra! 

Opera North will present the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet at the Blow-Me-Down Farm in Cornish, NH on July 16, 19 and 21. The performance includes a small number of youth singers who will sing in two scenes with the professional cast. The youth singers will learn and rehearse the music under the direction of UVMC Children’s Chorus Director Allison Pollard and then join full rehearsals with Opera North. The opera will be sung in French, but no previous knowledge of French is required.

Rehearsal and performance schedule:

There will be no planned absences permitted. For the safety and comfort of the performers, two volunteer parent chaperones will be present at each of the events in Cornish.
