A Cappella 101

A cappella 101 is a new non-auditioned ensemble designed for intermediate-level singers who are ready for a fun, yet challenging, choral experience. Rehearsals will focus on developing strong aural skills and musical independence through the use of Solfege and the Takadimi rhythm system, with minimal reliance on piano and no practice tracks available. In order to enjoy this ensemble, singers should be comfortable singing their part alone and/or next to someone singing a different part. The group will rehearse for one hour per week and perform 2-3 songs in the Community Chorus at UVMC’s fall and spring concerts.
