Ludovic Sardain

Ludovic Sardain is a French-born musician and educator with a comprehensive background in performance and music pedagogy. He completed advanced studies in piano, chamber music, as well as choir and orchestra conducting in France, Switzerland, and Germany, including a specialized year at the Jaques-Dalcroze Institute in Geneva. He later earned a Master of Arts in Music Education, deepening his commitment to music learning as a joyful, engaging experience.
As a senior lecturer at NYU in Paris where he taught Piano, Music Theory, and Chamber Music, Ludovic Sardain made a significant impact on the institution’s musical life by creating and conducting the NYU Paris Choir, establishing a vibrant choral program that engaged students and faculty members across disciplines.
As a composer, he created and premiered an original opera based on Théophile Gautier’s Capitaine Fracasse, and an a cappella choral piece inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Match Girl, as well as numerous pedagogical works.
A versatile performer, Ludovic Sardain maintains an active concert schedule as a professional pianist, presenting solo recitals and performing chamber music and orchestral works with various ensembles. He has also directed student orchestras and community choirs, consistently championing music-making as a collective experience.
