To Sing with Evergreen
Evergreen Singers draws singers from all faiths, beliefs, traditions, and ages to reach out in song to our community in the Upper Valley, and to sing and bring comfort and support to those who are ill or nearing the end of life.
All music is sung acappella, usually in four part harmony. We accept singers in all parts as the need arises. Singers need not be experienced music readers, but are expected to attend rehearsals and work on their own to learn the music.
Prospective singers will be invited to join us as a guest for a rehearsal. If they are interested in pursuing membership after that, they will have an informal private audition with our music director and be asked to fill out a membership form.
Once a singer is invited to join Evergreen, they will need to complete steps required by our referring agencies in order to sing at bedsides in those settings. Members of the Evergreen Stewardship Committee are available to guide new singers through these steps.
Prospective singers are encouraged to view the hospice-related DVD, “Holding Our Own”, a film by Camilla Rockwell about aging, death, and dying in our culture. (Copies may be available at your local library.)
