Upper Valley Music Center Announces 2024 “A Little Lunch Music” Concerts

Upper Valley Music Center announces a new lineup for the 2024 “A Little Lunch Music” series featuring UVMC faculty and their collaborators.

The free monthly series, offered on weekdays from 12 to 1 pm, is sponsored by a generous donor as a way to support faculty performance. Programs vary in genre and style, including classical, traditional folk music, jazz, and original compositions.

The series launched in fall 2023. The inaugural season offered seven concerts with 12 performers, nine of whom were UVMC faculty.

More than 200 attendees enjoyed the performances last year at Upper Valley Music Center in the Bach Room, the recital room in the historic Kendrick-Wood home on 8 South Park Street in Lebanon, New Hampshire. A high school class even planned a field trip to one of the concerts.

The fall 2024 lineup for A Little Lunch Music includes:

  • Thursday, September 26: Jazz with Draa Hobbs on solo guitar
  • Friday, October 25: Brooke Wilkinson and Justin Rodig meld their guitars and voices in the Folk and Americana traditions
  • Thursday, November 14: Jeremiah McLane and Eric Boodman play French Canadian music for fiddle, accordion, and feet
  • Thursday, December 12: Jennifer Turbes, viola, and Chenyu Wang, piano, share a concert of classical and contemporary music

“Anyone can come — the door is open,” said Erin Smith, Education Director at UVMC. “It’s an informal atmosphere. Families with toddlers can leave when they need to. Homeschoolers can incorporate performances into their day. If you’re working full-time, you can plan your lunch breaks around concert times and bring your lunch with you.”

A Little Lunch Music concerts are held at Upper Valley Music Center on 8 South Park Street in Lebanon. The events are free and open to the public.
