Campers discover music through drumming.

Music Discovery Camp will be offered online via Zoom for summer 2020.

Discover your inner song, drum, trumpet, cello and more! Campers will discover music with their voices, hands, fingers and feet over a week of fun-filled lessons and games. Instrument Discovery Presentations will feature families of instruments, giving campers a chance to listen to and find the one they love. Campers will also explore the fundamentals of pitch and rhythm through singing games and dances from different cultures, and create musical crafts related to the music and dances they are learning. Where will your musical path lead? You’ll have to join us to discover!

Campers will receive a packet of materials at the beginning of the week to support arts and crafts activities at home.

Meet Alicia Dale

Alicia Dale is currently teaching music at Dothan Brook School in Wilder, VT and is a private piano teacher. She received her Bachelor’s degree at Plymouth State University, Plymouth, NH, in Music Education with a minor in Business Administration. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and had the honor of receiving the Senior Music Award. During her time there, she participated in the PSU Symphonic Band as first-chair oboist, sang in the PSU College Chorale, performed in the PSU Woodwinds Ensemble as well as the PSU Piano Ensemble, and studied piano pedagogy.

Presently, she is a counselor at the PSU Piano Monster Festival, which she attended as a participant for six years, and at the Hartford Performing Arts Camp. She is the accompanist and Music Director for the Dothan Brook School Musical and has studied piano since she was six years old. She is an active member in the National Association for Music Educators as well as the Music Teachers National Association, and is looking forward to continuing her career as she pursues her Master’s degree. Although she enjoys teaching students of all ages, elementary school is where her true passion lies.
