25 Years of Music Education

Twenty-five years ago, a musical seed was planted.

Through the years, our community has nurtured that seed, and it has grown into a home for music education welcoming people of all ages and levels of experience.

Become part of the community and nurture music education with a year-end gift today. New and increased donations will be matched by a group of our Leadership Circle members in honor of UVMC’s 25th anniversary—up to a total of $25,000!

Today, more than 1,000 people make music each year through Upper Valley Music Center programs. Thousands of people hear concerts given by students and faculty. Students spend over 12,000 hours in lessons, classes, and rehearsals.

But the numbers don’t tell the whole story. As one parent put it,

“My daughter loves to play music. She doesn’t always love to practice, but when she figures out something new on her own and then runs to show me or my wife, she radiates pride and joy. There is nothing else that she does that asks so much of her and gives her so much in return.”

Our supporters have created a vibrant hub of music education in the Upper Valley where toddlers, school children, adults and seniors all make music.

Support from individuals means that our partnerships with 37 arts, social service, and civic organizations will continue to provide unique and powerful music education experiences for the whole community.

And crucially, your support means that children can receive tuition assistance, enabling them to experience the countless benefits of music education. More people seek music education every year, and each year we increase our budget for tuition assistance – a $5,000 increase in this year alone.
