Rehearsals build cohesiveness within a group, both through taking on the challenge of learning unknown music, and the creation of a unified choral sound. Entrainment of heart rates happens during each rehearsal, oxytocin is released, and the rehearsing group strongly bonds. The powerful music and the act of singing in harmony provide emotional release and satisfaction. Companies with experience cite increased confidence, teamwork, and happiness levels as reasons to support workplace choruses.

Singing music selected for its healing, rejuvenating, and inspiring qualities, UltraSounds gives its participants a boost of energy at the end of the workday. No music reading skills required; all music taught.

Thank you so much for such an amazing experience.  This has been such a good thing for me in so many ways.  I have found my voice in other areas of my life as well and it all started with signing up for this choir.  You have made every week so much fun and the little tips for using our bodies as accordions, etc have been most helpful with my asthma.

— Cheryl Valletta, Fall 2019 participant

I had to write on this beautiful morning a THANK YOU for the wonderful introductory rehearsal of the DHMC Employee Chorus. I am still singing that fantastic tune (so glad we ended the session to get it back into our heads!) and reflecting on the amazing work of Patricia to get us all singing in the first 5 minutes and learning songs without aid of piano or sheet music. I am facing personal and professional challenges so this ‘music therapy’ opportunity could not have come at a better time.

Thank you and the D-H Arts program for launching this group – I am thrilled to be a part of it!
