Songwriting 101

Saturdays 1-2 pm
No fall class; check back for spring dates
Online via Zoom

Have you ever thought about writing your own songs? Or wondered what goes into the process? Songwriting 101, led by singer-songwriter Chloe Brisson, is a workshop designed to delve into the deeper pedagogy of song/lyric-writing and guide participants on a creative journey to be more knowledgeable and confident songwriters. In the first half of the workshop students will learn the technical basics, including song structures, rhyme schemes, and how a ‘great’ song is crafted. In the second half of the workshop, participants will work on writing their own song – both lyrics and music – with constructive feedback from the instructor and peers. This course is ideal for participants aged 15+ who have no experience, or some experience, and would like to delve into the fun and beauty that is songwriting!
