Music Literacy for Singers
September 13-January 10

If you are a choral singer who would like to improve your sight-singing ability, this class is for you! Utilizing the research-backed Solfege and Takadimi systems, we will take a sequential approach to learning the music literacy skills of aural decoding (ear training), visual decoding (eye training), dictation (writing), and improvisation (creating). All exercises will be based on actual choral scores that we will sight-sing through at the end of each class, to solidify skills and for the fun of singing in harmony! Associated music theory will be taught in coordination with the skills learned in each class. Home practice will be encouraged between classes so that you can progress faster, although is not required for class participation. Choral singers of all levels are welcome!
