Stories of a Perfect Home: an evening of music from both Western European baroque tradition and Scottish tradition, reimagined. Through a blend of baroque flute and lever harp, the music showcased focuses on the importance of traditional melodies, how they are collected and shared, and the stories behind the two different cultures.

Flutist Mei Yoshimura Stone first discovered her love of music in animated movie soundtracks and has since been fascinated with storytelling through sound.  As co-founder of both the Sound Garden Project at Interlochen Center for the Arts and early music ensemble In Nomine, she curates performances designed to spark curiosity and empathy.  She has performed on modern, baroque, and classical flutes alongside Claire Chase and the International Contemporary Ensemble, Grammy-Award-winning ensemble eighth blackbird, and visual artist Anela Ming-Yue Oh. Stone holds both a Bachelor of Music degree in modern flute and a Master’s degree in historical performance from The Juilliard School. Find her at meiyoshimurastone.com.
