Take Pause, Take Courage | A Viola Recital

Saturday, May 6,
1:30 pm
to 2:30 pm EDT
Suggested: $20 | All are welcome

Take Pause, take courage. Join violist Jennifer Elton Turbes & pianist William Ögmundson for a program designed to create space, engage our minds, and ultimately inspire action. Take What you Need was composed by Reena Esmail for people experiencing homelessness, with poetry read by Rabbi Ilene Harkavy Haigh of Shir Shalom in Woodstock. Mary Kouyoumdjian’s A Boy and a Makeshift Toy from the Children of Conflict Series takes inspiration from the work of Pulitzer-nominated war photographer Chris Hondros. The program also includes works by Jessie Montgomery, Harry T. Burleigh, and Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber that inspire reflection and highlight the power of music to make an impact.

Tickets available at the door. Join us for a reception following the concert.
